Welcome to SB Connected!

As the impact of the coronavirus pandemic continues to impact our lives, the “Shiloh Baptist (SB) Connected” website is intended to assist Shiloh’s Ministerial Team, Ministry Leaders and Circle Leadership and church members as we manage the challenges faced as individuals, a church-body, a community and a nation in taking care of the needs of others while trying to remain Spiritually and Socially Connected.

Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others.

- Philippians 2:4 -

our promise

Because we believe that the practice of social distancing will continue for sometime, the COVID-19 response Task Force pledges that SB Connected will evolve and change as new opportunities, activities and information are needed to address the ever changing environment that surrounds us today. We look forward to meeting this challenge and prayerfully hope that you partake in these resources and assist in maintaining them and creating new ones.

mission

The purpose of the Spiritually and Socially Connected initiative, led by Shiloh’s COVID-19 CLC Response Task Force, is to provide direction and support to Circle Leaders and other Shiloh leaders, as they diligently work to create opportunities to touch the lives of their respective members. This will be accomplished through the use of creative communication methods (in both digital and non-digital formats).

for leadership

Leaders are encouraged to use the spiritually and socially connected resources, developed with them in mind, to help their Circles and Ministries be even more successful, as they strive to be responsive during these complex times. Through the use of the resources, leaders may identify solutions, giving them the ability to address both the spiritual and personal needs of their respective memberships.

for members and community

The Spiritually and Socially Connected initiative was also launched for individual church members and friends as they faithfully work to maintain and strengthen their spiritual and personal relationships. SB Connected provided tools and other resources (listed below and to the right) include the ability to listen to inspirational prayers, request prayer, request assistance, volunteer to help others, enjoy entertainment, and learn about publicly available assistance.

Spiritually Connected

The Shiloh Hour

The Socially Connected Shiloh Hour features a weekly series of family-oriented attractions. Scheduled on Friday evenings, at 7:30 p.m., the program will offer members, families, and friends access to an evening of relaxation and enjoyment, on any given Friday.

Virtual Book Club

Do you want to concentrate on something other than the pandemic? Do you crave conversations with other humans that don’t revolve around statistics and dread? Miss your church friends?

Wall of Remembrance

As we gaze back in time to remember and relive cherished memories both jubilant and trying, we commemorate those who worked in God’s vineyard to ensure they will never be forgotten.

Prayer Request

Jesus said, “Again I say to you, if two of you agree on earth about anything they ask, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven. For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I among them.” (Matthew 18:18-20)

Community Connections Resource Guide (CCRG)

This guide is intended to be used as a reference source for Circle Leaders and other ministry leaders of Shiloh Baptist Church. It is designed to help leaders as they strive to touch the lives and respond to the needs of their respective members. The guide was developed as a tool to ensure that Shiloh leaders have access to credible, reputable, and response-driven information resources; by virtue of being socially disconnected during uncertain times — times brought on by the Coronavirus-19 Pandemic. As enforced restrictions impact our daily lives, use of the guide will enable leaders to respond to members’ needs and concerns with suggested lifestyle solutions, in both digital and non-digital formats.

As Shiloh leaders develop their individual outreach plans, they are encouraged to use this guide as a resource to identify specific solutions for a variety of age groups – to include: Pre-K, Youth, Teenagers, Young Adults, and Seniors. It will allow leaders to equip themselves with a plethora of valuable resources ‘located’ throughout the DMV region. Members of Shiloh’s COVID-19 CLC Task Force team’s expectation is for this tool to help Shiloh leaders have a positive impact on the daily habits and routines of those we care about.

COVID -19 Task Force

“Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others.” (Philippians 2:4)

Welcome to the Circle Leaders Council COVID-19 Response Task Force! We are excited to serve as a support network for our sisters and brothers in need of fellowship and support during these trying times as our church, our communities and our nation face the horrific impact of the coronavirus pandemic and the ensuing financial crisis.

mission

Our charge is simple:
In essence, the CLC COVID-19 Response Task Force’s mission is to position Shiloh to be responsive to meeting the needs of a socially-distanced membership with spiritually connected solutions. We aim to address and fulfill needs identified by you and to keep you, your family and friends connected, informed and supported by providing guidance and assistance to Shiloh’s Ministerial Team, Circle Leaders, and other Ministry Groups as they create opportunities to touch the lives of their respective members through a myriad of communication methods and creative activities.

church without walls

Most importantly, we will do our part to make sure that you have the opportunity to continue to hear and follow God’s word. The Task Force along with other Shiloh groups are creating a “church without walls” as Shiloh follow society’s new social distancing rules and bans on mass gatherings.

reimagining connectedness

Our success as a Task Force will be determined by how well we stay together as a loving, enthusiastic, faithful, informed and united congregation – despite the challenge of forced isolation. By the grace of God, we aspire to be the best example of “Re-imagining Shiloh” by strengthening the ties that bind us.

If you have ideas for outreach activities, if you know someone who needs to hear from us or one of the church’s ministries or other groups, or if you want to suggest virtual activities for Shiloh members, we want to hear from you. Please contact us!

Graciously yours,
The COVID-19 Response Task Force
